Back in My Day
A board game to encourage the elderly to be more sociable.
Loneliness is over
A serious game project from my first year of university. We were tasked with creating an analogue game to combat loneliness among elderly people that would encourage them to socialise with people from all age groups.
Our research showed that the reason a number of elderly people go to certain activities, such as Bingo, is not necessarily because they want to participate in the event, but because they can use it as an excuse to socialise with others. We therefore created a rather passive game as to not distract players from the main goal, where the focus is on sharing stories from their past, allowing the players to enjoy the experience and set the pace of the game themselves.
Made in collaboration with Antreas Kouloumis and Edo Rooseboom.
